What a busy Autumn season it has been at Rebuild HQ! In September we officially launched our new Trauma Informed Coaching project and Diane moved into position as our new Support Delivery Manager. In October we welcomed Sarah to the support delivery team, and then in November we moved offices, and Paul joined the team as our Volunteer Development Worker. All this has been happening while continuing to provide vital support to those we work with...
... Like *Vivian, who was notified in October that after 4 years of waiting, she had been granted leave to remain in the UK. This is both an exciting and anxious time for individuals, as suddenly there are lots of practical things that need to happen, such as applying for bank accounts, benefits, and housing. Each of these can in their own right be daunting but having to do them all at once can feel overwhelming. Rebuild project workers are there to help make these processes a bit easier by supporting with completing forms, accessing interpreters to ensure individuals understand the process, advocating throughout and providing a listening ear. It has been such a privilege to partner with *Vivian as she starts this new chapter in her life. |
Christmas planning is in full swing! We have various festive craft sessions planned, along with a Festive brunch for those we work with. We are grateful to Derby City Mission who are running their Christmas Connection campaign again this year, which means we will be able to help families with presents for their children. Over the last year we have had so many opportunities to be able to support people to have hope for their futures and joy in the present. With that in mind we want to share some ways you can support Rebuild in December…

Ways to support Rebuild in December
‘Rebuilding Christmas’ appeal
We want to make sure the individuals and families we work with feel valued and remembered this festive season. So similar to previous years we are going to be creating ‘Christmas gift bags’ to give out in December. We are very grateful to Lush and Boots who have donated some lovely items for these bags but there are still a few bits to collect. We are looking for individuals like you and your friends to help us make a difference this festive season. We are looking for donations of the following to be put into Christmas bags for approximately 40 families to bring hope this festive season:

What is this you ask? Well, an amazing group of people (some of the staff team and friends of Rebuild) are going to be dedicating their December wardrobe to mainly denim items to highlight the issues around labour exploitation in the textile and garment industry, while also raising money for the work of Rebuild East Midlands. How can you get involved?
